Mazda Chooses Pasha Automotive Services for Port Processing

Thursday, October 26, 2006

(Corte Madera, CA) Pasha Automotive Services (PAS) has received a multi-year agreement from Mazda to import nearly 100,000 vehicles annually through its facility at the National City Marine Terminal in the Port of San Diego. Approximately 40% of these vehicles will be sent via rail to Mazda's inland operation in Midlothian, Texas and the balance will be processed by PAS and distributed to dealers in California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.

Pasha Automotive will provide complete processing services, including a wide range of accessories, such as spoilers, satellite radios and CD changers. Models processed will include Mazda3, Mazda5, Mazdaspeed3 and Mazdaspeed6, MX-5 Miata, RX-8, CX-7, and the new CX-9, which will be launched in December.

"This is an exciting account for Pasha," said Rich Frick Jr., Senior Vice President and General Manager of PAS. "We know we can deliver what Mazda is looking for in integrated transportation services. The quality of our processing and accessorization facilities is well recognized in the industry. Our rail ramp crew is one of the best and most experienced in the industry, and having a rail line right on our marine terminal enables us to offer expedited service for all our customers."

"Pasha has a reputation for quality performance and innovative solutions," said Tim Manning, Mazda North America's National Port Operations Manager.

"Our recent experience with Pasha's handling of our Hawaii-bound, domestically built vehicles was a very positive influence on our decision to award them this business.

The new and expanded services available to us at the San Diego facility makes getting our vehicles to market more expedient." Pasha has handled all of Mazda's U.S.-built Hawaii traffic since the start of Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines service between California and Hawaii in March 2005.

"We are pleased that Mazda has selected Pasha Automotive Services San Diego for their southern West Coast gateway," said Peter Young, President of The Pasha Group's Automotive and Logistics Division. "It's rewarding to have another world class brand join the other market leaders that have chosen Pasha for their automotive processing and delivery needs."
